Immune Boosting Smoothie with Pineapple!

I wanted to dive in with some fun recipes with ingredients I’m still seeing in the stores and that will help keep your immunity up while we stay away from this virus!

I realized I hadn’t done any recipes this month! So I wanted to dive in with some fun recipes with ingredients I’m still seeing in the stores and that will help keep your immunity up while we stay away from this virus! I know things are super weird right now and we might not be able to get everything we need at the grocery store, however I keep seeing fresh pineapple. So… whether you pick up a fresh pineapple at the grocery store or if you have some canned, this is a great recipe for your S’moo!

Total Time 5 minutes  Makes 1 Smoothie

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 scoop S’moo
  • 1 1/2 cups pineapple
  • 1 orange (no peel)
  • 1 cup milk (of choice or whatever you can find at the store!)
  • 1 Tbsp finely-chopped fresh ginger (or 1/4 tsp ground ginger if that’s all you can find)
  • 1 tsp ground Turmeric
  • 1 tsp honey (optional)

Why these ingredients?

Turmeric: This spice has been scientifically-proven to have great health benefits (plus it’s possibly already in your seasoning rack and if not, I’m sure they haven’t sold out of this at the grocery store). This spice has a warm, bitter flavor that is similar to pepper and is often used in curry dishes. It has some amazing health benefits such as an anti-inflammatory and antioxidant and may also help improve symptoms of depression and arthritis.

Pineapple: Is a great fruit for your body (and especially yummy when fresh) it contains disease-fighting antioxidants. It helps boost Immunity and suppress inflammation. It’s great with helping you recover if you’ve recently had a surgery or if you’ve worked out!

Oranges: The most popular fruit, when we aren’t going through a pandemic and though they were mostly gone last week, I’ve seen them around recently. If you can grab one, they are a good source of vitamin C, minerals, and antioxidants. Oranges are known to support a healthy immune system.

Ginger: You’ve heard of lemon ginger shots? It’s my favorite go-to when I’m not feeling well and there is a reason for that. One study showed that there are certain chemical compounds in fresh ginger that help your body ward off germs.
